The F4U-1D variant has the largest loadout options (along with the F4U-4) with the center point and wings featuring hardpoints. You may load a 150 gallon drop tank to increase your range, 150 gal drop tank and a 1000 lb. bomb, two 150 gal drop tanks, 2 1000 lb. bombs, two 500 lb. bombs, or two 250 lb. bombs on the center hardpoints. You may load eight HVAR 5" rockets on each wing. The amount of internal fuel may be selected at full, 3/4, 1/2, or 1/4. Range is vastly impacted by fuel load. A partial fuel load (less than full) may be selected with an external fuel tank which increased range but allows for an immediate 'dump' of fuel when enemy planes are encountered (increasing maneuverability). If you're deep in enemy territory, however, there's a chance you may not have the fuel to get to a friendly shore base or carrier (even more-so if you've taken any fuel hits). The gross weight and endurance (time) in the air at full military power (without WEP) is displayed at the bottom of your selections. Though Corsairs are capable of long range sorties your selection of weapons and fuel will dictate how far you can fly.
